As Catholics it is very important that we are buried after we die. From Our Lord Jesus we learn not only how to live, but how to die and how to treat the body of the deceased. As He was buried so we too must be buried as we await the Resurrection of the Body on the Last Day. Cremation is permitted but strongly discouraged as it does not honor the dignity of the body as does full body burial.
